The LWF Uganda Program is looking for qualified and experienced persons to fill the following position;
Job Title: Project Assistant – Livelihoods.

Duty Stations: Adjumani (1)
Reports to: Project Officer – Livelihoods
Starting Date: ASAP
Duration of Contract: 1 year contract (with possibility of extension).

Job Summary:
Under the guidance of the Project Officer – Livelihoods, the Livelihood Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day livelihood support of beneficiaries as well as providing specialized trainings to Farmers and VSLA groups and business groups for insight of growth and sustainability.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Work with the CBFs, stakeholders and with guidance from project officer in identifying farmer groups and promote active participation of beneficiaries and intermediaries in the planning, implementation and evaluation of the project activities.
• Provides Basic training support for POC’s of on good farming practices.
• Participates in the coordination meetings on Livelihood, partakes in Livelihood/VSLA training in the identification of farmer groups and provides start kit support where necessary.
• He/she should have Knowledge in FFS and Backyard gardening.
• Ensuring the FAL activities in the FAL Centres are in operational and work together with FAL instructors and FAL groups for further support.
• Ensuring timely and prompt follow up of all farmer groups.
• Using participatory methods, identifies and engages key stake holders in promoting active community participation in responses to Livelihood interventions.
• Trains community structures and stakeholders on Livelihood and response methodology.
• Collect and tabulate field data on project activities carried on a regular basis and undertake impact assessment using participatory approaches for all beneficiaries to determine the relevance and impact of the assistance offered.
• Ensure all POC’s received appropriate services depending on the clients need.
• Ensure Adherence to the principle of confidentiality and dignity; and the current SOPs while implementing the project.
• Prepare weekly reports and monthly reports are submitted to the responsible officer within the specified time as stipulated in the project documents.
Others
• Undertake other related duties as may reasonably be assigned by the Supervisor.
• Ensures strict adherence to the principles of child protection/psychosocial support at all times including respect for confidentiality and a child centered approach, and act in the best interests of the persons of concern.
• Commitments to and understanding of LWF aims, values and principles including rights-based approach.
• The staff must ensure that organization assets are maintained and taken care of.
Education, Experience, Skills and Technical Competences:
The applicants for the Project Assistant – Livelihoods job placement should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture/Forestry/Agro-forestry or other relevant field of study, at least 2 years’ experience in Project Management and Community Development programming, Must have no history of violation of Children’s rights, Team player, excellent communication skills (verbal and written), as well as interpersonal & negotiation skills and Must possess a valid riding permit.
