Position: Project Driver
Location: Mbale

It’s hard to believe that today 844 million people do not have clean water and 2.3 billion do not have a decent toilet – around one in three of the world’s population. Every two minutes, a child under five dies from diarrheal diseases caused by poor water and sanitation.
We started because no NGO like us existed. We’ll end when no organisation like us is needed. In the meantime, we’re making great progress – since 1981, we have reached 25 million people with clean water and, since 2004, 24 million people with sanitation.

WaterAid Uganda is looking for a Project Driver to play a vital role in our mission to make clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene normal for everyone, everywhere by 2030.

Key Responsibilities include:
The Project Driver will be responsible for the safe, transportation services for WaterAid program and support staff, equipment, and materials required in the implementation of the country program’s activities. The driver will be fully responsible for the operations and maintenance of WaterAid Uganda’s vehicles in his/ her possession. The driver will adhere to all traffic and safety rules and follow the required transport guidelines. He/she will further ensure that vehicle log books are updated on a daily basis.

To be Successful, you will need the following:
• Advanced Diploma in Transport and Logistics or any related field
• Valid driver’s permit with class B, CM and DL.
• Six (6) years of driving experience within an INGO Good written and spoken english with the ability to produce reports in MS office applications. E.g. Word, Excel
• Good technical knowledge in mechanics and experience with vehicle repair and maintenance. Record free of accidents
• Good knowledge of understanding of traffic rules and regulations Good interpersonal relations skills. planning, organizing and team player skills
• Mature with a high sense of responsibility, alert, flexibility, courteous and neat
