Job Description
Hunger Fighters Uganda (HFU) is a Not-For-Profit, Non-Governmental Organization
initiated in 2008, pursuing a vision of “A Hunger and Malnutrition Free Uganda”. The
Organization is engaged in the activities of fighting hunger with a local, national and global

HFU wishes to recruit self-motivated and hands-on volunteers to fill the respective positions
tenable in the GFA and Livelihood & Resilience project under the Self Reliance
Model (SRM) in Nakivale- Oruchinga refugee settlements in Isingiro District. The
positions will be subject to annual review and contract renewal.
1. PROJECT MANAGER (01 – SRM)
Job Location: Isingiro Field Office
Employment Type: Contract
Reporting: Team Leader
Job Purpose:
The key objective of the roles of the Project Manager’s work is to assist project teams with
the coordination of resources, equipment, meetings, and information. He/she organizes
projects with the goal of getting them completed on time and within budget.
Project Manager shall be responsible for ensuring the schedule, budget and details of a given
project tasks are well organized. He/she communicate with various departments to keep
everyone on board about any changes within the project plan. In addition, he/she shall
organize reporting, plan meetings and provide updates to project line management.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensuring projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained
appropriately for the project
• Maintaining and monitoring livelihoods field plans, project schedules, work hours
budgets and expenditures
• Organizing, attending and participating in livelihoods stakeholder meetings.
• Documenting and following up on important actions and decisions from field meetings
• Preparing necessary presentation materials for field meetings
• Ensuring project timelines are met
• Assess and regularly report resource utilization in line with best value for money
practices
• Providing field administrative support as needed
• Develop project strategies
• Assess project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable.
• Ensure stakeholder views are managed towards the best solution.
• Chair and facilitate meetings where appropriate and distribute minutes to all project
team members and other relevant officers.
• Participate in Procurement evaluations for project goods and services
• Create a field management calendar for fulfilling each goal and objective.
• Coordinate project management activities, resources, equipment and information
• Break projects into doable actions and set timeframes
• Liaise with the project management to identify and define requirements, scope and
objectives
• Assign tasks to internal project teams and assist with schedule management
• Make sure that project needs are met as project evolve
• Help prepare budgets
• Analyze project risks and opportunities
• Oversee project procurement management
• Monitor project progress and handle any issues that arise
• Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all participants
• Work with the Project team leader to eliminate blockers
• Use tools to monitor project working hours, plans and expenditures
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports
• Ensure standards and requirements are met through conducting project quality
assurance.
• Participate in project resource mobilization
• Perform any other related duties as required
Requirements and skills
• BSc in Business Administration, Social Sciences or related field with not less than 5 years’
experience in projects implementation
• Post-Graduate Qualification in Project Planning and Management, or Monitoring and
Evaluation.
• Proven work experience of project management from conception to delivery.
• Have the ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules and step-by-step project
action plans
• Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management
• Strong client-facing and teamwork skills
• Familiarity with project risk management and quality assurance control
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project and Microsoft Planner
• Hands-on experience with project management tools
1. FINANCE OFFICER (01 – GFA/SRM)

Reporting: Head of Finance & Administration
Job purpose:
A finance Officer shall be responsible for the day-to-day tasks in a finance department to
ensure that the organisation has their bookkeeping in order, budgets and taxes. Preparing
balance sheets, entering data into the system and updating financial records: are some of the
tasks involved
The Finance Officer shall execute the following specific duties:
• Responsible for the maintenance, reporting and management of the Field/Coordination office
finances.
• Develop and maintain a reliable and appropriate accounting system for the field office.
• Calculating and checking to make sure field payments, amounts and records are correct.
• Managing petty cash transactions at the field office and ensure that all financial documents are
properly filed.
• Carry out monthly bank reconciliation for field office organization account.
• Participate in the preparation of organization Audit and Financial Reports, and budgets.
• Actively participate in preparation of statutory accounts and ensuring that the organization is
compliant with statutory requirements.
• Support the Head of Finance and Administration in the implementation of the Board and Auditors
recommendations.
• With the guidance of the Head of Finance and Administration and collaboration with Field Office
management, prepare and submit monthly financial reports to WFP and any other partners.
• Attend regular Field/Coordination Office Management meetings.
• Submit through the Head of Field Office a monthly financial report to the Head of Finance and
Administration and accountability for all funds disbursed to the Field/Coordination Office.
• Supervise and report on all procurements conducted at the Field/Coordination Office.
• Support the Field Coordinator in ensuring effective and efficient financial management system at the
Field/Coordination Office.
• Conduct capacity building for staff at the field level that are directly under your supervision and
through inter-unit collaboration for other staff involved in financial reporting.
• Carryout other duties as they may be assigned from time to time by the Head of Finance and
Administration Officer.
• Participate in organization resource mobilization.
• Any other added responsibility as instructed by the supervisor.

Personal Specifications:
All eligible candidates for this position MUST have the following qualification:
• Minimum qualification of a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance, Business
Administration – Accounting with at least 3 years’ experience in accounting field, and a
professional qualification in CPA with at least level 3.
Accountant Skills:
• Accounting, Reporting Skills on financial matters (QuickBooks), Attention to Detail,
Deadline-Oriented, Confidentiality, Time Management, Data Entry Management,
General Math Skills.
• He/she should be a team player, with interpersonal skills & confidentiality.
