Job Description
Background: War Child Canada (WCC) is an international charity, with the vision of “a world where no child knows war”. War Child Canada works with war affected communities to help children reclaim their childhood through access to education, opportunities and justice with cross cutting themes of child protection and gender. War Child Canada also takes an active role in raising public awareness around the impact of war on communities and the shared responsibility to act. War Child Canada with funding from the US department of Democracy, Human rights and Liberty (DRL) intends to expand the global knowledge base through conducting a participatory video evaluation methodology, placing youth at the center of the evaluation work; by developing a video-based evaluation methodology that places youth at the center of the evaluation; and disseminate a new youth centered methodology for Participatory Video Evaluation(PVE) using smartphone technology and participatory survey design in Adjumani district, Uganda. To fulfil this dream, War Child Canada is currently seeking for dynamic, qualified individuals .
Position Title: Project Manager- Monitoring & Evaluation (1)
Duty Station & Travel: Adjumani, with regular field travel
Contract: 4months, with possibility of extension
Reports to: Head of Programs
Position summary: Reporting to the Head of Programs; the Project Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the implementation and successful delivery of the DRL project. He/she will be responsible for the development; implementation and reviewing of the progress of the program activity plans with clear targets and timeframes; monitoring and evaluation; grant management including budget forecasting and monitoring; partnership management; management of project teams with direct line management and submission of high quality internal and donor project reports and liaising; networking and coordinating with relevant government and non-state actors, sector clusters , forums and stakeholders .
Knowledge and Experience:
• First degree or post graduate degree or equivalent qualification in Monitoring and Evaluation, Project Planning and Management, Research or any other related field.
• At least five years of project management experience in a similar or related field/sector.
• Proven ability to develop, manage and monitor project budgets.
• Strong knowledge and experience of M & E of education programs, including developing, implementing and reviewing M & E plans and systems.
• Good facilitation and coordination skills..
