Job Title: Quality ARUTAB Officer (10076 time and want)

POSITION SUMMARY
The Quality Assurance Officer will interpret and implement quality assurance standards in the laboratory to ensure quality of test results. The Quality Assurance Officer will be responsible for onsite checks and audits to monitor quality performance in the laboratory and ensure that corrective and preventive actions are in place. She/he will be the lead person on improving and maintaining quality in all testing facilities in collaboration with MOH, UNHLS and other implementing partners.

Key duties and responsibilities
• Coordinates External Quality Assurance programs for; HIV, Syphilis, Hepatitis and UBTS (Uganda blood transfusion services) for peripheral testing sites in the country.
• Coordinates Site and tester certification activities for peripheral sites in the country.
• Interprets and implements quality assurance standards in the laboratory to ensure quality of test results.
• Reviews quality assurance standards, studies existing tab policies and procedures, and interviews lab personnel and clients to evaluate effectiveness of the quality assurance program.
• Updates quality assurance policies and procedures.
• Assist, reviews and evaluates lab records applying quality assurance criteria.
• Selects specific topics for review, such as problem procedures, supplies, high volume tests or other factor(s).
• Compiles statistical data and writes narrative reports summarizing quality assurance findings.
• Oversees personnel engaged in quality assurance review of lab records
