Job Description

From its small beginnings producing only raw milk, JESA has grown to become a home grown, commercial success story and a flagship East African consumer brand. Today, the JESA brand, with its wide range of fresh, dairy products namely: fresh pasteurized milk, UHT Milk, Yoghurt, Butter, Fresh Cream and Cream Cheese; has come to symbolize great taste, high quality, and innovation.

JESA/HR/PDN/19: QUALITY MANAGER (01 VACANCY)
Job Summary
Coordinate the development and monitor implementation of the quality assurance controls and procedures, from receipt of materials, production, storage, and dispatch of all products. Ensure the released products to the market are of good quality and safe for human consumption.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
• Coordinate the development and implementation of quality assurance procedures and control.
• Developing and following materials quality specification to be meant by the various suppliers.
• Coordinate the assessment of raw material and non-raw materials before storage and production.
• Coordinate the assessment of production process across all the production lines, against the set process controls to ensure production quality products.
• Provide support in prevention of losses through ensuring production quality products in line with the set standards.
• Coordinate assessment of the warehouse operations from products movement and storage in line with quality standards.
• Coordinate assessment of all products before dispatch aimed at ensuring the released products to the market are of good quality and safe for human consumption.
• Coordinate the Microbiological criteria verification and analysis.
• Coordinate the inter region laboratory error survey to ensure laboratory analysis proficiency and accuracy.
• Coordinate department staff activities from Training of laboratory staff on testing techniques especially microbiology, performance management and grievance handling.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual department performance reports.
• Prepare the department work plan and budget, as well monitoring department performance against the set plan and budget.
• Control and verify good housekeeping of laboratory materials according to the required standards.
• Verify and monitor testing records and ensure that what is recorded is actually done.
QUALIFICATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Basic Qualification Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science and Technology obtained from an internationally recognized institution.
Working Experience
A minimum of 8 years’ relevant working experience with at least 2 years’ supervisory experience.
