The position is based at Masaka Regional Referral Hospital. The Radiographer will provide imaging reports to aid clinicians in diagnosis and management of patients. Tasks will range from advanced preparation and testing to administrative tasks .

The holder of this position will perform among others the following duties;
• Prepare and submit work plans and budgets for radiographic activities in the hospital
• Requisition and account for radiographic materials and sundries allocated;
• Capture and dispatch patient images to relevant departments/physicians in a timely manner to meet high level treatment standards and efficient reports.
• Provide an imaging report where necessary and possible.
• Make certain that adequate and correct information is given to the patients and care giver/family prior to conducting procedures
• Prepare the treatment machines and treatment rooms for each patient adequately
• Monitor and record the patients’ condition throughout the procedure.
• Routinely checks mail (at least once daily), returns phone calls and answers all pages in a timely fashion. He must attend weekly CME meetings, monthly medical staff meetings and other meetings as requested.
• Attends all healthcare centre case conferences (a minimum of one per month) to discuss difficult patients and should demonstrate flexibility and willingness to provide coverage at other AHF sites upon request.
• Schedules vacation or conference leave time at least one month in advance; arranges own provider coverage at the site and informs the Medical officer in charge and the Regional Medical Director of the staffing change at least one month prior to vacation/conference.
• Inform the Medical Director and facility Administrator with as much time as possible for sickness and/or unplanned days off.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Centre Manage

Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum of Diploma in Medical Radiology or its equivalent
• Must be registered with the Allied Health Professional Council
• Minimum of two years of experience in a similar position
