Job Description
Background information about the job or company:
To develop new crop varieties with desirable traits, identify genetic variations, analyze genetic data.
Responsibilities or duties:
- Conducting comprehensive literature review and update literature of major crops
- Collecting, introducing, conserving, characterizing and utilizing germplasm
- Drawing up short-, mid- and long-term plant breeding goals
- Designing plant breeding strategies
- Planning and conducting experiments/studies
- Developing grant proposals
- Developing sustainable management practices
Qualifications or requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture (crop science option)
- Master’s Degree in Plant Breeding, Genetics or Molecular Breeding
- Minimum of three years demonstrated working experience
- Proven record of publications in referred journals
