Job Description
JOB DETAILS:
Makerere University College of Health Sciences, School of Public Health (MakSPH) with support from the Word Bank is coordinating implementation of studies for the Operations Research Program on Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) in Uganda for a period of one (1) year. RMNCAH seeks to recruit and Research Officers (ROs) to support data collection for the different Operations research studies.

No. of ROs needed & period: 4 ROs for 3 months
Research topic: Referral Pathways in Rural and Urban Health Care Settings in Uganda
Reports to: The Study Principal Investigator (PI)
Location: Gulu, Pallisa, Bushenyi and Kampala
Job purpose:
The research officers will be responsible for planning and managing all field activities for the research process across the study district.
Responsibilities:
The position holder shall be responsible for;
• Field work planning
• Pre-testing study tools
• Coordinate the research field activities district stakeholders
• Identify study participants for FGD, KII, IDI in study districts data collection activities and events
Scheduling data collection activities in study Districts, health facilities and with study respondent, secure appropriate venues for data collection events
• Collecting data- primary qualitative data-audio, photographs and quantitative data-medical documentation review
• Transcribe audio qualitative data in MS-Word in line with the templates provided
• Ensuring data safety and quality
• Submit all collected and transcribed data copies, including hand- written field notes; soft and hard copies of extracted secondary data; audio recordings and transcribed soft and hard copies; to the Principal Investigator
• Ensure data quality assurance and participate in data validation events
• Work with PI on data analysis and reporting
• Preparation, coordination, and co- facilitation of stakeholder workshops/meetings, expert analysis events
• Carry out any other duties assigned by the PI
