MUJHU RESEARCH COLLABORATION – MUJHU CARE LTD, a Kampala – based equal opportunities Clinical Research and Service Delivery Organisation with more than 350 employees is seeking interested, committed and reliable professionals with the described qualifications to apply for the position of RESEARCH PHARMACIST in support of MU-JHU studies.
Description and purpose:
The successful person, after training and delegation of duties, will be responsible for monitoring, packaging and dispensing of study drugs, anti – retroviral drugs and drugs for treatment of opportunistic infections.
Required qualifications and profile:
A degree in Pharmacy with at least 2 years’ working experience in a busy pharmaceutical setup including some research related experience. The desired person must be able and willing to learn quickly, have good organisational skills, multitask, have strong documentation skills and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills. Experience with training in GCP/HSP will be an added advantage.
The holder of this position will work under the direct supervision of the Lead Pharmacist with guidance from the Clinic Division Director, and will be responsible for the following duties:
• Maintain professional GCP/HSP accreditation and complete study specific training as required.
• Identify the drug requirements for the institution (study specific drug requirements, general drug requirements).
• Adhere and enforce general and study specific internal drug policies and procedures.
• Stock management (Forecast/ requisition/ stock/ verification/ assessment/ storage/ dispense).
• Maintenance of pharmacy/drug storage physical infrastructure.
• Report to stakeholders on medicines usage/management and provide pharmacological information to the clinic team and patients/participants.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary study team to perform delegated duties and ensure timely communication and coordination.
• Participate in any other related duties reasonably assigned by the relevant authorities.
