Kyagalanyi Coffee Ltd. [KCL] is a member of the Volcafe group, the coffee division of ED&F Man. It is the oldest and largest coffee exporter in Uganda and the first to become ISO 9001:2008 certified. We buy Arabica and Robusta in all coffee producing regions and export about 15% of Uganda’s coffee production to over 30 consuming countries around the world. The company heavily invests in Uganda’s coffee infrastructure and people. Our quality-oriented business strategy aims to lift up the entire coffee sector and improve the quality perception of Ugandan Arabica and Robusta around the globe.

We are now looking for a Risk Manager to join our team.
Job Title: Risk Manager
Duty Station: Namanve, Kampala
Reports to: General Manager

General Duties and Responsibilities:
As a senior member of our team, this role will be responsible for the development and implementation of the integrated management system (IMS) for the Kyagalanyi Operations. The purpose of this IMS will be to control risks across our organisation. The scope of this would span across all key functions in the organisation including Technology, Finance, Health, Safety, Environment, Product Quality and Food Safety. The Risk Manager will lead the Internal Audit function and requirements, which includes planning, supervision and reporting all related matters.
Utilizing his/her in-depth subject matter expertise to contribute to the development of new techniques and processes for the organization, this role will drive continuous improvement. There will be a strong focus on putting systems and controls in place across the operation, documenting these and reviewing these on a regular basis to ensure operational and finaicial compliance and best practice.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Accounting or related field or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge and demonstrable experience in HSE and QFS is desirable.
• Proven and demonstrable experience identifying internal control gaps and documenting internal control framework.
• Confirmed ability to assess risks and controls, identifying improvements opportunities.
• Minimum of five years of related work experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High level of integrity, a practical attitude, and the ability to communicate on all levels is essential.
• Ability to design and delivery trainings to teams across the organisation that support knowledge sharing and accountability.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced excel skills
• Availability to travel domestically 50% of the time across Uganda
• Valid Driver´s license
