It’s hard to believe that today 844 million people do not have clean water and 2.3 billion do not have a decent toilet – around one in three of the world’s population. Every two minutes, a child under five dies from diarrheal diseases caused by poor water and sanitation.
We started because no NGO like us existed. We’ll end when no organisation like us is needed. In the meantime, Were making great progress – since 1981. we have reached 25 million people with clean water and, since 2004, 24 million people with sanitation.

WaterAid Uganda is looking for a Senior Driver to play a vital role in our mission to make clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene normal for everyone, everywhere by 2030.

Key Responsibilities Include:
The Senior Driver (Transport and logistics) will be responsible for overseeing the WaterAid (WAU) Fleet at the Head Office and in the Regions where we work, they will ensure that all vehicles and equipment in the fleet are properly maintained, registered, licensed, tested and, to the extent appropriate, operated in accordance with the Traffic and Road Safety standards and requirements. The Senior Driver will work closely with a range of fine managers and other drivers to determine transport requirements and coordinate WAU vehicle movements. He/she will ensure all WAU vehicle log books are updated and periodic reports done appropriately.

To be Successful, you will need the following:
• Advanced Diploma in Transport and Logistics or any related field
• 10 years of driving experience preferably 4 years of which are within the NGO or international Sector
• Valid driver’s permit with class B, CM and DL
• Good written and spoken english with the ability to produce reports in MS Office applications. E.g. Word. Excel Record free of accidents Knowledgeable in vehicle repair and mechanics and safety knowledge.
• Good knowledge and understanding of traffic rules and regulations.
• Good interpersonal relations skills, planning, organizing and team player skills Mature with a high sense of responsibility, alert. flexibility, courteous, neat
