Procedures and Eligibility

Duties And Qualifications
Assist the RMCU on risk management matters, helping them in discharging their responsibilities and accountabilities to manage risks and ensure compliance with UNHCR policies and procedures.
Act as a liaison between FRRM and the risk management unit
Maintain Risk Registry by supporting field colleagues in required documents/contact etc.
Support RMCU staff in organizing and facilitating capacity building workshops
Maintain RM network in Uganda, including information sharing, technical training, membership etc.
Maintain/file key documentation within RMCU.
Ensure all the RMCU events are implemented according to the agreed activities plan and perform all administrative duties in support of the unit including organizing workshops, meetings and travel documentation.
Supporting and promoting the use of good risk management tools and approaches.
Support RMO on the secretariat work for risk coordination forums, such as the Risk Advisory Group.
Qualifications And Experience
Education
High School Diploma or Bachelor or equivalent in Business Administration, International Affairs, Political Science, Finance, Audit, Risk Management or other relevant field is required.
Work experience
Essential
At least 1 year of experience in positions involving, amongst other things, responsibilities relating to risk management, compliance or quality of results. Demonstrated high level of integrity, objectivity, impartiality and fairness. Excellent judgement with proven ability to deal with complex interrelated issues and strong analytical and problem solving skills to develop solutions that address root causes. Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and writing skills.
Desirable
Good working knowledge of UNHCR¿s mandate, field operations, organisational structure, and policies & procedures. Certification in risk management. Strong skills in collaboration, team building, capacity development and with ability to deliver quality results on time. Exposure to and experience in UN or humanitarian field operations and emergencies in various geographical locations and multiple functional areas.

In line with the vision of linking Feedback Referral and Response Mechanism (FRRM) to integrity matters, the Snr FRRM Assistant will work closely with two wings of RMCU, namely Risk Management and FRRM. S/he will support the P3 Risk Management and Compliance Officers on day-to-day work. The SRMA will also work closely with the Associate RMCO to collect and analyse basic data/statistics supporting an evidence-based approach specified in section 2. The position fits into the RMCU Uganda strategy to have a strong national staff team well trained, experienced and competent in risk management. This will ensure sustainability of the unit and ensure institutional memory and continuity. It is also envisioned that during the assignment, the incumbent will build individual capacity in risk management for the future work of the s/m. The SRMA will be part of a network of Risk Management 2.0 practitioners at the regional level and within the country operation, collaborating to strengthen risk culture across UNHCR. Special attention is paid to lessons learned on Uganda specific risk management issues.
