Senior GL Accountant
Location: Kampala, Uganda however can be mobilized to Lake Albert area, other construction sites or other cities as required.

Primary function:
• Enhancing the efficiency of workflow of accounting, ensuring accuracy and high quality posting in SAP.
• Responsible for report preparation and management.

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for reviewing and consolidating non-operator reports, compiling and reviewing reports related to the operating blocks.
• Preparation and design of financial /reports for management.
• Monitor monthly expenditures on assigned projects within the annual WP&B ensuring the appropriate controls and analysis is in place.
• Develop and manage the Company’s financial policies and systems, carry out continuous reviews of working accounting practices and processes to ensure efficient and cost effective operations.
• Provide financial service support to the key stakeholders within the Company.
• Be involved and provide support in the preparation of Company’s annual work program and budget.
• Responsible for DD&A booking, common cost allocation, monthly operating cost accrual
• Responsible for regular and ad hoc analysis
• Assist with the training and coaching of new team members.
• Work with both the Internal and external Auditors to ensure a smooth process.
• Carry out any other duties and ad hoc tasks assigned by the Superior.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, management or the related.
• 7-10 years of related experience, at least 3 years should be in a similar position/responsibility (Management Accountant).

Knowledge:
• Extensive knowledge of international laws on economics, commerce, financing, accounting, taxation and insurance.
• Strong knowledge of an integrated accounting package in operation in a large multi-departmental organization.
• Solid knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP.
• Broad knowledge of O & G operations.
• Familiar with Uganda PSA/JOA.
