The Bureau is a key player in Commercial, Civil and Intellectual Property Rights Registration that facilitate private sector development and vital statistics for national planning.
The Uganda Registration Services Bureau seeks to recruit suitably qualified, competent, and experienced professionals to fill vacant position.
Job Title: Senior Legal Officer
Reports to: Head Legal Advisory Services
Job Purpose:
To provide legal advice and guidance to Management and ensure sound legal standing URSB operations including being represented in the Courts of Law .

Key Duties & Responsibilities
• Review rules, regulations and procedures applicable to the Bureau, which may be affected by new legislation, policy changes and developments in the administration of justice.
• Ensure registration of legal documents with the relevant authorities.
• File litigation as may be necessary
• Review and or prepare contractual documents made with third parties and ensure that URSB interests are taken care of
• Provide legal advice to URSB and its clients on compliance with all legal requirements pertaining to the Bureau’s operations
• Represent the interests of the URSB in the Courts of Law and wherever else as may be necessary
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Head Legal Advisory Services and management

Person Specifications
• An Honors Degree in Law plus a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from a recognized institution
• At least 3 years ‘relevant work experience 1 of which must have been at supervisory level in a reputable public or private organization.
• Computer literacy skills.
