JOB DETAILS:
Position: Senior Programmer

Duty Station: Uganda National Public Health Laboratory services (UNHLS)
Job Purpose:
To design and implement systems interoperability and health information exchanges and data warehousing for data mining purposes for data based decision making
Duties and responsibilities:
• Plan and design the Architecture, develop and implement software programs to meet business requirements.
• Develop application code, modules and systems for business and technical requirements.
• Design information exchanges mediums and application programming interface for interoperability of several information systems
• Design and implement data marts for data warehousing and data mining
• Tune up design for maintainability, scalability and efficiency.
• Develop and implement programs, designs and codes.
• Coordinate and support technical staff, operations and vendors.
• Interact with users to determine their requirements and needs.
• Integrate best qualitative practices in design and development aspects of programs.
• Programs the computer by encoding project requirements in computer language;
• Confirms program operation by conducting tests; modifying program sequence and/or codes.
• Provides reference for use of prime and personal computers by writing and maintaining user documentation; maintaining a help desk.
• Maintains computer systems and programming guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
Qualifications and requirements
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Electrical with strong java, python and R language programming skills,
• Excellent at Analyzing Information, Problem Solving, Attention to Detail, Software Design, Debugging, Development, Documentation and Testing,
