Job Description


The position will lead design and implementation of service delivery strategies for HIV prevention activities across the LSDA activity, including but not limited to all HIV biomedical and structural HIV prevention efforts. S/he will collaborate with health authorities, community leaders, and PEPFAR partners in the five USG-focused regions to create strong facility- and community-based networks that will support comprehensive and high quality HIV services. .

Duties:
• Provide technical and strategic direction for all HIV prevention activities
• Mentor PNFP facilities/sites to a) implement high quality, evidence-based HIV prevention and support services across gender and age groups, and b) establish/strengthen linkages between HIV testing and treatment services.
• Build technical capacity for implementation of innovative strategies for HIV prevention services at the individual and organizational level, including HTS, prevention of mother to child transmission of HIV (PMTCT), VMMC and other behavioral and structural factors affecting HIV prevention services.
• Coordinate dissemination of HIV prevention guidelines and policies among PNFP health facilities and related platforms within LSDA areas
• Provide technical assistance to increase knowledge and positive attitudes of health care providers toward HIV services to encourage counseling, testing and referrals.
• Facilitating the scale-up of routine, confidential HTS and ensure quality services are available to the most at-risk populations
• Provide technical assistance for conducting site assessments and strengthening referral systems, in-service education, and supportive supervision for integrated HIV prevention services.
• Strengthen capacity for regional based HIV prevention staff and cascade this to PNFP sites
• Lead monitoring and reporting of all HIV prevention activities
• Participate in quality improvement and learning activities for HIV prevention services
• Any duties assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
• Postgraduate degree in medicine, or public health with a minimum of seven years of experience in providing technical assistance and project implementation on large donor-funded international projects.
• Degree in a health related field
• A minimum of 5 years experience in leading and providing expert HIV prevention assistance in PNFP, NGOs or other partner settings.
• Demonstrated understanding of the Protestants’ Church’s structures, organization, and values. v. Experience working with multi-donor funded health projects, and knowledge in HIV prevention programming processes, and frameworks
• Excellent stakeholder and client relationship management skills
• A working knowledge and prior experience with USAID awards.
• Good report writing, presentation, or public speaking skills
• Highly flexible, innovative, a team player, with good communication, feedback, and interpersonal and able to work with a multi-cultural team within the organization.
• Ability to delegate clearly and have a flair for attention to detail.
• Computer literacy with very good knowledge of MS Office applications
