Senior Treasury Accountant
Location: Kampala, Uganda however can be mobilized to Lake Albert area, other construction sites or other cities as required.

Primary function:
• Responsible for creating a smooth, effective & efficient treasury and AP Workflow,
• Responsible for accounts payable management of the Company.

Responsibilities:
• Ensuring that accounts payable functions are delivered effectively and efficiently.
• Assist with the training and coaching of the new team members.
• Assist in reviewing & updating and or setting up new policies/procedures/guidelines/workflows relating to staff business travel accountabilities are posted accurately in SAP.
• Ensure that all APs possess sufficient appropriate support documentation prior to payment.
• Ensure that there’s sufficient funds with cashier for handling all approved cash requests & reimbursements. Check and verify staff cash transactions (advances and reimbursements).
• Manage and reconcile accounts of cash, bank, AP and AR
• Manage company’s ACH, wire transfers and deposits.
• Maintain the statistics report for contracts with the standard format.
• Process and record monthly AP accruals as required from time to time.
• Handling foreign currency transactions in S2BFX, TMS, CITI direct
• Correspond with the procurement team to reconcile issues raised in MM module in SAP
• Take care of the cash management of the company.
• Ensure that sufficient funds are available.
• Prepare and submit the monthly Treasury reports on a timely basis
• Managing bank relationships: dealing with day to day correspondences with the banks.
• Participate in month end closing activities with the team.
• Assist during Company audits by providing and responding to any clarifications related to AP.
• Vendor management: Resolving any invoice discrepancies, producing aging summary reports, respond to inquiries.
• Any other duties assigned by superior.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, management or the related.
• 7-10 years of related experience, at least 3 years should be in a similar position/responsibility (Management Accountant).

Knowledge:
• Extensive knowledge of international laws on economics, commerce, financing, accounting, taxation and insurance
• Strong knowledge of an integrated accounting package in operation in a large multi departmental organization.
• Solid knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP.
• Broad knowledge of O&G operations.
• Familiar with Uganda PSA/JOA.
