Job Description


Position: Study Coordinator (1 position)
The position is linked to the project “Evidencebased policies and health systems interventions for antenatal care”. The project aims to implement digital health records (eRegistries) in support of antenatal care in the district of Mukono, and implement the new policy of eight antenatal care visits in the design of a cluster randomized controlled trial.

Summary of responsibilities.
• Overseeing the day to day management and operations of the study clinics including supervising all the clinic staff.
• Ensuring that recruitment, randomization and follow-up procedures are conducted per protocol.
• Ensuring that all study teams meet the specific retention targets.
• Treat study participants reporting any health issues during the study and/or refer as needed.
• SAE/EAE documentation/reporting coordination Resolving queries and working hand in hand with the data manager (s) to improve the quality of the clinical trial data.
• Completing case report forms Preparing trial progress reports and chairing study meetings Reporting to regulatory authorities.
• Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications, skills and experience
• A bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB).
• At least one (1) years’ experience in coordinating medical research projects in Uganda. Applicants with experience in coordinating randomized intervention trials will be preferred.
• Full registration with the Medical and Dental Practitioners’ Council with a valid Annual Practicing License (APL)
• A valid certificate of Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
