In 1999, Hima Cement Ltd. was acquired by Lafarge, becoming a subsidiary of the Bamburi Cement Group based in Kenya.

In 2024, Hima Cement embarked on an exciting new chapter as it was acquired by Sarrai Group, a dynamic conglomerate with diverse interests in Sub-Saharan Africa.
