Kawumu Leather Industry is a factory operating as a project under State House. Kawumu Leather Industry is producing different types of finished leather for shoes, bags, garments and more mainly from cow hides. The vacancies are on a twelve (12) months renewable contract and attract a competitive salary package.

1. Post: Production Supervisor (1 post)

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or Leather Technology from a recognized Institution.

• Master of Science in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or Leather Technology from a recognized Institution.

Experience

Five (5) years’ experience in tannery and leather processing

2. Post: Senior Chemist (1 post)

Qualifications: • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering or Leather Technology from a recognized Institution.

• Master of Science in Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering or Leather Technology from a recognized Institution.

Experience: Five (5) years’ experience in the tannery and leather processing.

3. Post: Assistant Supervisor Efluent Treatment Plant (1 post)

Qualifications:

BSC in Environmental Chemistry or Environmental Engineering or Leather Tanning Technology from a recognized Institution.

Experience: Two (2) years’ experience in environmental management.

4. Post: Quality Control Assistant (1 Post)

Qualifications:

Diploma in Veterinary Medicine or Chemistry or Leather Technology from a recognized Institution.

Experience

Three (3) vears’ experience in selection processes of leather processing

5. Post: Head of Occupational Health and Safety (1)

Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or Environmental Science or Industrial Hygiene

• Post graduate qualification in a relevant field from a recognized Institution

Experience

Three (3) years’ experience as a health and safety officer in a manufacturing environment.

6. Post: Senior Procurement Officer (1 Post)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Logistics Management.
• Full professional certification such as CIPS

Experience

Four (4) years’ work experience in procurement/purchasing management, logistics

7. Post: Accountant (2 Posts)

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Accounting or An Honors Bachelor degree with a bias in accounting option obtained from a recognized awarding Institution or Full professional qualification in Accountancy obtained from a recognized awarding Institution accredited by the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU).
