Job Description
A teacher at Horizon International School Jinja (Horizon) shall be required to fully comprehend and internalize the vision, mission, goals, and philosophy of Horizon and conduct himself/herself in accordance with the cherished principles and practices of the school.
Job Requirements:
• Minimum academic qualification is a B. Educ (Economics) or Degree in a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in teaching the Cambridge IGCSE and AS/A’ Level curriculum is an added advantage.
• Prior experience in teaching economics in combination with either History or Entrepreneurship is an added advantage
• A proven track record in securing the highest possible educational outcomes for your students.
• Have excellent subject knowledge and experience.
• Excellent IT skills with ability to teach using online platforms.
Roles and responsibilities
• A teacher at Horizon shall be required to perform the following professional duties:
• Planning and preparing course outlines, records of work and lesson plans.
• Teaching according to the educational needs of the individual students assigned to him/her, including the setting and marking of work to be carried out by the students in school and at home.
• Assess, record and report on the progress, development and attainment levels of students.
• Set, mark and moderate examinations under the direction of the department head and Examinations coordinator.
• Participate in invigilation of exams, lesson substitution, school duty and take on the role of a form teacher or other assignments as given by the school administration.
• Participate in arrangements for preparing students for external examinations and in assessing students for the purpose of such examinations.
• Maintain good order and discipline among students in accordance with the policies of the school and safeguarding their health and safety both when they are on the school premises and in school activities elsewhere.
• Promote the general well-being and progress of individual students assigned to him/her.
• Provide professional, ethical and pastoral guidance, direction and advice to students on educational and
