Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Team Leader for a project in Uganda which will promote the implementation of IWRM through the preparation of Catchment Management Plans which will support investment in water supply and sanitation in NWSC cities, DWD small & rural towns and refugee host communities. The IWMDP will also support the preparation of a Water Resources Management Strategy and Action Plan for Albert Water Management Zone, implementation of priority investments and a Water Information System (WIS).
The Team Leader will lead in the assistance to DWRM in the preparation of catchment management plans in the Albert WMZ (Nyamugasani and Kafu) and Kyoga WMZ (Sezibwa Catchment and Okweng Catchment). The plans will consist of two elements, agreed investments to pre-feasibility level in infrastructure and water management interventions. The goal is to ease sources of conflict, conserve and protect the catchments and ensure equitable access to and use of water resources.
While the primary purpose of this project is to produce agreed catchment plans with prioritized and sequenced investments and management interventions prepared to prefeasibility level, the testing and further improvement of the planning process and the updating of the Guidelines based on field experience is an important secondary objective.
