B JOB DESCRIPTION
B1 Overall purpose of the job.
• To carry out new installations, overhaul motors during factory shutdowns, service and repair electrical equipment and handle preventive maintenance on machines and pumps.
Key Responsibilities
1. Service starters, motors, and air circuit breakers.
2. Overhaul motors during factory shutdowns.
3. Carry out relevant technical tests on electrical equipment before and after repairs.
4. Monitor the performance of all electrical equipment under the technician’s charge.
5. Work together with the section electricians in erecting electrical installations in the factory.
6. Prepare and submit relevant periodical reports about all repair activities in the workshop to the repair and maintenance supervisor.
7. Keep accurate records of materials used during repairs for proper accountability.
8. Adhere to the safety, health and environment policy of the company.
9. Perform any other related duties as may be assigned to you by Supervisor – Electrical/ management from time to time.
C Knowledge, qualifications & Experience
C1.1 Education:
• A Diploma in electrical engineering from a recognized Institution.
Experience, Skills and Competences:
A minimum of two (2) years working experience in electrical work in a large and busy manufacturing industry. Knowledge in electrical safety precautions, electrical power handling principles, first aid treatment for electric shocks, good communication and interpersonal skills.
Communication Skills: The position demands constant interactions with employees, management, and stakeholders throughout the business and, therefore, communication skills are an absolute necessity.
Ms Office: A candidate for this position must be proficient in the use of Ms Word, Ms Excel, Tally, SAP,EFRS, FICO, all necessary for the creation of not only visually but verbally engaging materials, reports, presentations, and proposals for departmental heads and management, stakeholders.
Analytical Skills: A candidate for this position must be capable of gathering and interpreting raw information and data, documenting findings, and drawing appropriate recommendations.
Interpersonal Skills: The candidate must be a helpful, calm and professional individual and demonstrate calmness during times of uncertainty.
