Duties and Responsibilities

• Upgrading and maintaining telecommunications systems;
• Running routine tests on telecommunications systems to ensure that all components are functioning at optimal levels;
• Checking all wiring work done to ensure that there are no exposed cables.
• Investigating and resolving errors in a timely manner;
• Planning network installations;
• Establishing voice and data networks by running, pulling, terminating, and splicing cables;
• Documenting networks by labeling and routing equipment and cables and recording configuration diagrams and specifications;
• Maintaining safe work environment by following codes, standards, and legal regulations.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience;
• Over 10 years’ experience is preferred;
• Academic qualification in telecommunications or a related field;
• Proven experience working as a telecommunications technician;
• Sound knowledge of telecommunications systems;
• The ability to interpret technical manuals and schematic designs;
• The ability to work well under pressure;
• Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills;
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills;
• A detail-oriented disposition.
