About US:

Security Group Uganda Limited is one of the leading and most innovative organization in the security industry.

 

Job Summary:   This role requires strategic awareness for the creation and implementation of overall policy in order to generate effective, sustainable training solutions for the organization in the field of security.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To manage and provide leadership role to the training school team.
  • Developing security training course curricula, including learning objectives and core competencies.
  • Coordinating the standardization and contextualization of security training materials.
  • Managing the selection, screening, databasing and relationships with third party training vendors.
  • Managing awareness of humanitarian sector best training practices, developments and tools.
  • Enabling regular reviews and reporting on compliance.
  • Administrative and logistics planning in the training delivery.
  • Providing capacity building, technical direction and guidance on security training, competency and behavior of recruits and staff.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Experience & Personal Specifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years in a similar position with three (03) years at supervisory level
  • Demonstrable experience in training delivery skills
  • Experience in managing teams in a dynamic environment

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong management and leadership skills together with excellent communication, influencing, negotiating and engagement skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate and uphold SGA Security mission, vision, values and ethics.
  • Ability to demonstrate sensitivity and understanding of diversity and cultural differences, gender issues and commitment to equal opportunities
  • Ability to make important decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and take control of incidents.
  • Ability to organize and plan a demanding workload and work within tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Ability of writing procedures, drafting reports, preparing and compiling and adjusting duty rosters to meet short falls in staffing levels

Minimum qualification:

  • A bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
  • Experience in security training/Police/UPDF will be an added advantage.
  • Must be below 50 years of age.
