Job Summary:

A VINAJ Websites Web Designer’s duties cover all aspects of creating a website. Upon meeting with clients and assessing their needs, web designers help create and maintain the product. A web designer creates the look, layout and features of a website. The job involves understanding both graphic design and programming. Once a website is created, a designer also helps with maintenance and additions to the website. They work with development teams or managers for keeping the site up-to-date and prioritizing needs, among other tasks.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off. Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps (site navigation) to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas
• Meeting clients to identify their needs and liaising regularly with them
• Drawing up detailed website specifications
• Designing sample page layouts including text size and color
• Designing graphics, animations and manipulating digital photographs
• Presenting initial design ideas to clients
• Coding using a variety of software
• Working with different content management systems
• Search engine optimization
• Meeting relevant legal requirements such as accessibility standards, freedom of information and privacy
• Designing the website’s visual imagery and ensuring it’s in line with company branding policy or the requirements of the client
• Proofreading content and making changes where necessary
• Editing content, debugging code and re-designing web pages
• Working with other specialists including web developers and graphic designers
• Liaising with outside agencies
• Testing the website to ensure it is working well on desktop, mobile and tablet
• Handing the complete website over to the client
• Post-sales technical support
• Training client staff
• Researching current design trends
• Upgrades/updates site by updating content and graphics; monitoring performance and results identifying and evaluating improvement options; introducing new technology and continual professional development to keep up to date with new software developments in the industry.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• At least a relevant diploma in related field. Fresh Graduates are encouraged to apply
• Proficiency in graphic design software including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and other visual design tools.
• Proficiency in front-end development web programming languages such as HTML and CSS, JQuery, and JavaScript.
• Good understanding of content management systems.
• Good understanding of search engine optimization principles.
• Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues.
• Excellent visual design skills.
• Up-to-date experience with international web protocols, standards, and technologies.
• Creative and open to new ideas.
• Adaptable and willing to learn new techniques.
• Excellent communication skills.
