The Infectious Diseases Research Collaboration (IDRC) seeks to hire two suitable candidates for the position of Accountant to be based in Kampala. The Successful candidates will report to the Senior Accountant.
Summary:
The Accountants will provide financial information in terms of encashment, mobile money processes support, working advance, bank, stock, general ledgers and indirect cost reconciliations for different projects.

Job description
1. Ensure encashment and mobile money transactions are captured both online and in the Navision system.
2. Maintain tracking records of working advances and ensure accountabilities are availed timely to enable invoicing.
3. Ensure timely bank, stock, payable, payroll, Fund accountability statement and general ledger reconciliations as per stated timelines.
4. Ensure indirect costs transfers are effected on every reimbursement in line with the expenditure incurred in a timely manner.
5. Provide material financial information to senior staff members to enable decision making and cash flow management.

Qualifications and other desirables for the job:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferably B.COM or BBA from a recognized University.
2. Level II or Full CPA & ACCA qualification is an added advantage.
3. Minimum of 2 years practical experience in a similar position.
4. Experience with management of US federal funds, Knowledge of internal control principles and procedures.
5. Knowledge of NAVISION is a MUST.
6. Attention to detail, Teamwork and ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities and see projects through to completion.
7. Good written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills and strong organizational skills.
