Job Description


Duty Station: Kampala, Nabbingo, Mukono, Matugga, Jinja, Gulu, Fort Portal
Reports to: Risk and Compliance Manager

Job Summary:
Carry out audits, reviews, and investigations to deliver opinions on the effectiveness of the controls in line with the departmental guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities
● Assists with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports for information sharing, responding to queries, knowledge management, planning and decision-making in line with departmental guidlines.
● Organize and maintain supporting audit working papers, engagement files that support the audit reports submitted to the Audit & Compliance Manager
● Participate in scheduled audits and ad hoc investigations at all offices and make appropriate recommendations in line with departmental guidelines
● Undertakes research /obtain background information related to the subject to be audited
● Reports errors and other findings directly to the Audit and compliance officer
● Compile and escalate risks and audit issues to the Audit and compliance officer in line with departmental guidelines.
● Participate in debrief sessions upon completion of and during projects to identify lessons learned and enhance future quality and planning
● Prepare monthly reports of work done in line with departmental work plans
● Provide and coordinate administrative support in line with departmental guidelines
● Answer, screen and document telephone calls to the Fraud alert whistle blowing hotline in a professional and timely manner
● Travels as part of the audit team to carry out field audit assignments in line with departmental guidelines.
● Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor from time to time.

Qualifications & Job specifications
The job holder should have:
● A bachelor’s degree (honors) in Finance or Accounting
● Computer proficiency coupled with a strong understanding of Audit software.
● The candidate must have at least 1 year of working relevant experience in a reputable organization.
● Must be a team player with excellent communication skills (oral & written) and analytical skills.
● He/she should have knowledge of audit procedures (audit-related planning techniques, test & sampling methods and so on).
● He/she must be willing to travel upcountry occasionally
