Job Description
Wagagai Mining (U) Ltd (“WGG”) is Uganda’s first fully automated large-scale gold mining enterprise, located in Busia. The Company operates a 5,000-tonne-per-day concentrator, a 350-tonne-per-day cyanidation plant, a fully automated underground mine, and a gold smelting and refining workshop. To meet production development needs, WGG now invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following key technical positions:
Job Summary
Responsible for management of electrical and automation control systems at the paste backfill plant
Key Duties
Program and maintain PLCs (Siemens/Mitsubishi), VFDs, SCADA/HMI systems, design and troubleshoot automation control circuits, maintain low-voltage distribution and explosion-proof electrical equipment; read electrical drawings; implement electrical upgrades and safety measures; train local employees.
Requirements
Diploma or above in electrical/automation/electromechanical engineering; 3+ years of electrical/automation experience at a backfill plant or in industrial automation; expert in PLC programming, VFD configuration and HMI development; familiar with underground explosion-proof electrical standards.
