Job Description


Asante Financial Services Group is looking for a Business Development Executive for its newly established Uganda operations. Our vision is to be the Leading Provider of Digital Financial services in Africa and we require a Business Development Executive that will work closely with the Group Office to realise this aspiration in Uganda.

We have recently incorporated a subsidiary in Uganda and target a pilot launch in June/July 2020. To sustain the momentum and continue on this trajectory, we are searching for a super-efficient Business Development Executive that will be our Go-To-Person in Uganda pending when the local office and team are fully assembled. From day one, our Business Development Executive will have an immediate impact on our productivity, streamlining strategic initiatives, overseeing program management, and communicating objectives between us and our local partners. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a business management role, with a special focus on executive-level advising and interdepartmental collaboration.

We are looking for a hands-on, technology proficient and commercially astute team player who can articulate, structure and execute with excellence. Deep understanding and appreciation of the economic, financial, and social dynamics in Uganda is compulsory.

Job Description 

  •  Project manage launch, in collaboration with group teams and partner teams, for our initial propositions from zero to launch
  •   Interim management of country operations after launch
  •  Be responsible for business growth and profitability pending full set up of operations
  • Make data-driven decisions that will help to grow the business and improve operational efficiency
  • Understand business needs & opportunities in the country and resolve them in a timely manner
  • Collaborate with various teams & stakeholders to bridge the gap between the group and local partner teams
  •  Work closely with group Finance, Operations, Engineering and Product teams for alignment and high productivity
  •  Support the hire of new talents
  • Manage local legal, PR, admin topics related to the business

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in Operations, Business Development, Strategy or Management Consulting, ideally in a tech or financial services firm
  • Proven career record of managing high value and complex business projects
  • Successful experience running operations in a fast, dynamic business environment
  • Have a data-driven analytical mindset (great Excel skills)
  • Great communication skills and experience working with various stakeholders
  • Experience leading and managing strategic partnerships
  • A Bachelor’s Degree is a minimum requirement; an MBA or a Master’s degree is an advantage
