The role of the catering assistant is to support the overall supply of aircraft requirements to ensure exceptional service for passengers on board.

Key Duties & Responsibilities;

• Support the development of a rotational In-flight catering menu.
• Preparation of daily flights catering orders and submitting them to the caterer.
• Support supervision of service providers to ensure timely flight loading & offloading.
• Support the budgeting and controlling logistics of the catering section.
• Ensuring timely loading and offloading of all Aircraft Catering items
• Delivering the catering items and making handover to flight pursers.
• Supervising the loading and offloading of catering materials from the Aircraft
• Participating in periodic food presentations with Caterer and supporting the designing of required in-flight Catering menu.
• Coordinating and organizing for meal uplifts from outstations.
• Monitoring daily inflight consumption reports.
• Receipt and verification of invoices from service providers before submission to Finance department.
• Coordinating with all other ground operations staff in ensuring timely flight operations
• Attending to any other duties as may be assigned by the line superiors.

Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:

• A diploma in Catering and Culinary Arts is a MUST.
• Profound experience in Aviation catering will be an added advantage.
• An uninterrupted work experience of not less than 3 years in an in-flight catering/culinary industry.
• Good team player with fast decision-making skills
• Driving skills in lightweight vehicles. Possession of an Airside driving permit (ADP) is an added advantage
• Computer literate.
• Familiarity with food safety and HACCP.
