Job Description


JESA Farm Dairy is a leading dairy brand in Uganda founded in 1989 by the late Mr. James Mulwana. From its small beginnings producing only raw milk, JESA has grown to become a home grown, commercial success story and a flagship East African consumer brand. Today, the JESA brand, with its wide range of fresh, dairy products namely: fresh pasteurized milk, UHT Milk, Yoghurt, Butter, Fresh Cream and Cream Cheese; has come to symbolize great taste, high quality, and innovation.
A number of vacancies have been created due to expansion of company operations. This is therefore to invite applications from suitably qualified candidates who meet the required job specifications, skillset and experience to fill the following positions at JESA Farm Dairy.

JESA/HR/PDN/14: CIP OPERATOR (03 VACANCIES)
Job Summary
Sterilize and sanitize equipment used to process milk, cream, and other dairy products; disassemble and clean processing equipment in safe and efficient manner following established procedures.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
• Clean and sanitize equipment, tanks and pipelines used in the production line.
• Dismantle processing equipment after production from operating position to cleaning format before setting CIP program.
• Complete basic preventive maintenance of parts with attention to gaskets, seals, O-rings, plates and on all product contact surfaces.
• Ensure 100% microbiological index is attained for microbiological safety and report any areas of improvement through documentation and record all relevant information (paperwork/checklists/verifications) required by procedures and for accountability and traceability.
• trouble shooting in areas of CIP failures through checks and weekly inspections for early detection of CIP errors and aid in planned maintenance services.
• Prepare, mix, and check detergents for use in the CIP station following standard chemical preparation procedures and make timely requisitions and accountability for chemical usage, siting inefficiencies to CIP supervisor for improvement.
• Comply with safety guidelines when handling hazardous chemicals, equipment with moving parts or around electricity through following standard operating procedures and use of personal protective equipment (PPES) to reduce on incidents of chemical injury accidents.

QUALIFICATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Basic Qualification Diploma in Food Science and or Food Processing obtained from an internationally recognized institution.

Working Experience
A minimum of 2 years’ relevant working experience.
