Job summary: To ensure a clean and safe environment for hospital staff and patients.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensure that all surfaces, fixtures and fittings within the designated work area are kept clean and tidy on a daily basis.
• Ensure that all sanitary areas, i.e. bathrooms, toilets, sluices and showers are cleaned and sanitized according to set Infection Control Procedures and ensure that they are fully stocked with the necessary supplies.
• Ensure all floor surfaces are kept clean.
• Maintain and clean all equipment used in the carrying out of domestic duties.
• Prepare and set up rooms for meetings/seminars as requested.
Removal and disposal of all waste within the Unit in accordance with set Infection Control procedures.
• To report any concerns or issues regarding pest control using agreed procedures.
• To assist with the movement of materials and equipment e.g. drugs from the Main Store to the dispensing areas.
• Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time by the relevant authority.

Qualifications and Experience:
• At least “O” Level Certificate (UCE).
• At least one years’ experience in similar role.
• Ability to speak and write English.
• Knowledge of local languages like Luganda, Kiswahili will be an added advantage
• Must be willing and able to work extended hours including week ends.
• Must be between 25 – 45 years of age.
