Job Description


Key Responsibilities
Communications Strategy:
• Support the development and implementing of the communication strategy through writing and editing materials, including success stories press releases, brochures, newsletters, vlogs and other forms of website and social media content for projects and programmes.
• Participate in identifying innovative communication, public relations platforms that will help in showcasing IDI work.
• Promote communications and marketing materials through appropriate social channels

Events Management
• Participate in conducting awareness campaigns, events, information dissemination workshops, etc. for target groups.
• Participate in organizing projects’ events and commemorations for example the health days recognised nationally and internationally.
• Support photography needs

Stakeholder Database:
• Contribute to the development, management and maintenance of the stakeholder’s contact list for active participation in IDI events.
• Participate in disseminating communication materials to relevant stakeholders.
• Website Management
• Upload articles and reports to the website for different stakeholders to access.
• Support the IT team in maintenance and monitoring of content on the website to ensure high quality output.

Media relations:
• Participating in mobilizing media for press conferences, media trainings, science cafes etc.
• Developing IEC materials
• Work closely with procurement team to follow up the production and delivery of materials with selected vendors/suppliersFile all human resource records in the region in line with the HRMIS policies and procedures and the HRMIS guidelines.
• Any other duties as may reasonably be assigned from time to time

Person Specification
• Bachelors in Mass communication or Media or a related field
• Post Graduate Training in Media or other relevant field is an added advantage
• Above average knowledge of various social media platforms: especially the professional platforms like Twitter, Linked-In. This will be a paramount skill.
• Proficiency in Office management software and design software such as Photoshop and InDesign will be an added advantage.
• Experience with website design or content an advantage
• Detail-oriented and organizational skills: Juggling multiple tasks is common in this role, hence organization and a keen eye for detail is essential.
• Interpersonal skills: The successful candidate will regularly interact with multiple people.
• Strong communication skills: The role entails writing clear, concise, and professional content to share with the public.
• Teamwork: The ability to collaborate with various projects and teams will be essential.
• Creativity and innovativeness: The role will entail communication of matters concerning digital health innovations. This will require creativity in order to influence both the general public and the medical fraternity.
