Job Description

Our research, advocacy, and advisory programs focus on economic opportunity, women’s health, gender norms, positive youth development, sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender-based violence, and equitable workplaces. Our partners and clients include community-based and nongovernmental organizations; bilateral and multilateral agencies; foundations, philanthropists, and corporations; governments; and academic and financial institutions.

Overview
ICRW is seeking a skilled Copy Editor to review and edit a research report focused on ending child sexual abuse. The primary objective of the Copy Editor is to ensure clarity, coherence, accuracy, and consistency of the report’s language, style, and formatting to enhance the overall quality and readability of the document.

Scope of Work
• Review the entire research report for grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, punctuation issues, and typographical errors.
• Ensure consistency in language, terminology, and formatting throughout the report.
• Improve the flow and coherence of the report by rephrasing or restructuring sentences and paragraphs as needed.
• Provide feedback and suggestions to enhance the clarity and effectiveness of the report’s messaging.
• Collaborate with the communications and research team to incorporate any revisions or updates based on feedback.

Deliverables
• Edited version of the research report with tracked changes and comments highlighting edits and suggestions.
• Clean, finalized version of the edited report and formatting requirements.

Timeline
• The Copy Editor is expected to complete the editing process within [5 days], including time for revisions and feedback from the research team.

Qualifications and Experience
• Proven experience as a Copy Editor, preferably in the field of social sciences, gender studies, or related areas.
• Strong command of English language, grammar, punctuation, and style.
• Familiarity with academic writing, research reports, and publication standards.
• Work efficiently under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience working with international organizations or NGOs is an asset.
