Job Description


The counselor will provide ongoing psycho-social support interventions to clients, their families, and community members to ensure holistic HIV/AIDS care and strengthen the uptake of all service packages delivered within ROM-supported facilities and communities

Responsibilities and Duties
1. Oversee the implementation of HIV Testing Services at Reach-Out facilities, in the communities and clients’ homes.
2. Ensure timely submission of counselling reports with narratives, and accountability.
3. Carry out support supervision to counsellors at the different ROM sites and take the lead in their capacity building, and ensure timely appraisals are done.
4. Ensure all Reach-Out clients are supported to adhere well to their drugs.
5. Ensure all counselling registers and other records are well filled and updated, and data entry into EMR is done in real time.
6. Ensure all clients tested HIV positive through counselling are validated and linked to care, counselling services provided to those with psychosocial issues and home visits done where necessary.
7. Participate in the drawing and implementation of medical clinic schedules, work plans, and budgets documenting best practices and lessons learned on specific program indicators and projects
8. Take the lead in planning and organizing the different support groups within counselling and ensure all counselling programs have SOPs.
9. Support and observe the safeguarding culture in the organization regularly documenting and reporting identified and potential safeguarding issues to the HR.
10. Ensure health, safety, and security in your area of operation, as you promote the vision, mission, and values of Reach Out Mbuya.
11. Any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
• Degree in Guidance and Counselling, Social Sciences, SWASA or related field.
• Training in HIV/AIDS counselling modules from a recognized institution
