Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized university plus a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre. A Master’s Degree in the relevant field will be an added advantage. Applicants should have a Post Graduate qualification in Management and should be a Member to the relevant Professional Association.

Working Experience
Applicants should have a minimum of nine (9) years working experience in legal practice three (3) of which should have been gained at Assistant Commissioner or Head of Department level in Government or from a reputable organization.

Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Director Legal Services for performing the following duties:-
• Defending KCCA in Courts of Law and any other fora in line with the KCCA Act, the HR manual and the Advocates guidelines;
Drafting legal documents and review draft legislation in accordance with management and council decisions;
• Developing and reviewing strategies for the Authority’s litigation advocacy efforts and evaluate impact of the function on the departments work plan and objectives;
• Negotiating out of court settlements on behalf of KCCA and generate reports in line with the HR Manual and professional guidelines;
Developing and reviewing the best practices for the litigation function in line with the professional guidelines and organizational procedures;
• Providing technical and legal advice to management on all legal matters that arise out of the Authority transactions that KCCA engages in, in accordance with Management and Legal guidelines;
• Managing the performance and development of staff under direct supervision in accordance with the Performance Management Guidelines.
Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
