Job Description


SEND A COW is a grassroots livelihood development non-governmental organization which, was founded in 1988 as a response to combating poverty and malnutrition in Uganda. The organisation operates on the principle of organised community groups while promoting the “Passing an Gifts” model. Using the extension service delivery model knowledge and skills in agronomy, Gender and social inclusion, business and youth skilling are passed on to vulnerable communities. Send a Cow designs development solutions with, and For the communities to get back the skills and confidence they need from the resources around them such as land. Currently works in the North, Central and Eastern parts of Uganda targeting vulnerable households, refugee populations and their host communities, youth and smallholder farmers.
With funding from World Food Programme (WFP), Send a Cow Uganda (SACU) is implementing an Agriculture and Market Support (AMS) Project in the districts of lsingiro and Kyegegwa. The goal of this project is to have strengthened and resilient livelihoods of small holder farmers, especially women. Key objectives of the project are; 1. Strengthen collective action by smallholder farmers, 2. Improved Post Harvest Management (PHIVI) practices and promote post—harvest technology adoption by smallholder Farmers, groups, Farmer organizations (FCJs} and other market system actors, 3. Increase market access ‘For groups and FCJs and 4. Improve the coordination and quality of government agricultural livelihood programmes and services.
Send a Cow Uganda is seeking qualified candidates to fill the following positions ‘For its AMS Project which will be implemented in Isingiro and Kyegegwa District.
