Job Description


Location: Kampala, Lake Albert production installation base or other cities in Uganda if required.

Primary function:
In charge of oilfield power system and power grid management and technical supports.

Responsibilities

• Participate in new oil field electrical related commissioning, start up, collect, and follow up instrument related issues left out by the engineering team.
• Participate in engineering work, supply technical supports and advice during design, construction and pre-commissioning.
• Cooperate for new oil field commissioning and start up. Engineering left over issue follow up.
• Coordinate with Tilenga, EACOP and UETCL for power grid management and operation, ensure power grid are stable.
• Technical support for on-site electrical power system maintenance and management. Cooperate for resolve of those related issues.
• In charge of KF oilfield power transmission system management; prepare maintenance strategy, organize and compile maintenance procedures, supervise and implement to ensure the high integrity and good status.
• Ensure all KF oilfield power transmission system related annual inspection and certification be carried out in time.
• In charge of power transmission system, ensure carryout spare management and optimize spare storage.
• Participate in power transmission system related materials, spares and service tendering, and conduct bidding evaluations especially in the technical aspects.
• Promote the development of studies and related programs to optimize power transmission system and improve efficiency.
• Prepare power transmission system maintenance work program and budget, and supervise the implementation.
• Organize for power transmission system emergency maintenance with minimum influence to production and minimal damage to personnel and assets.
• Management of power transmission system related changes and modifications, organize instrument related potential risk and hazard corrective measures.
• Prepare electrical transmission related reports;
• Maintain working relationship with partners and contractors in area of mutual interests for cost effective conduct of the operations;
• Execute instrument related summary and analysis, providing improvement or preventive measures.
• Perform other duties assigned by superior.

Mandatory Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering or the related.
• At least 4 years related experience in Power Transmission and Power Grid.

Knowledge, skills and competencies
• Knowledge of electrical engineering.
• Experience with electrical transmission maintenance and management
