Job Description


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design, install, and maintain electrical and mechanical systems in water supply projects.
  2. Oversee equipment selection and installation, ensuring compliance with technical standards.
  3. Troubleshoot electrical or mechanical issues during project execution.
  4. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of designs, tests, modifications, and maintenance.
  5. Safety Compliance: Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures.
  6. Collect and review operational data of electro-mechanical equipment/systems, making recommendations for efficiency improvements.
  7. Prepare designs, specifications, and cost estimates for remedial actions, submitting reports for approval.
  8. Prepare technical specifications and bills of quantities for electro-mechanical equipment procurement.
  9. Carry out equipment/system installation designs, plans, and supervise design drawings.
  10. Verify imported electro-mechanical equipment for specification compliance.
  11. Supervise installation, ensuring compliance with design specifications and contract administration.
  12. Check and certify contractor’s progress payment claims for electro-mechanical items.
  13. Coordinate project implementation with government and stakeholders.
  14. Test and commission electro-mechanical equipment/systems, preparing commissioning and handover reports.
  15. Prepare works progress and contract close-out reports.
  16. Train water corporation staff on operation, maintenance, and record-keeping.
  17. Review electro-mechanical assets/systems operational performance and produce reports.
  18. Reconcile imported electro-mechanical equipment on project completion as directed.

Job subscription

    • Educational Background and Skills:
      • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
      • Minimum 7 years of electro-mechanical experience, including 3 years in design and implementation of electro-mechanical equipment for urban water supply schemes.
      • Knowledge of World Bank regulations, rules, policies, procedures, and practices is desirable.
      • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
      • Fluency in written and oral English.
      • Highly motivated, positive attitude, problem-solving approach, flexibility, and teamwork ability.
