Job Description


Location: Kampala, Uganda. Mobilized to Albert Lake, construction sites or other cities if required.

Primary function
• Responsible for the EPT environmental aspects on the Lake Albert site.
• Provide support to ensure that the project management is in line with the CNOOC HSE system, and complies with the Ugandan regulations and the international industry best practices.
• Responsible for implementing the HSE system in the project, organizing and implementing the environmental management work at all stages of the project.

Responsibilities
• Compile the environmental management plan for the EPC phase and confirm that the plan is implemented.
• Responsible for the identification of environmental risks in EPC phase and develop measures, and organize environmental management work.
• Supervise and assist the contractor to build the environmental management system, conduct audit and evaluation.
• Compile the environmental weekly report, monthly report and yearly report.
• Responsible for regular inspection of the environmental status of the site facilities during the construction phase.
• improve the contingency plans and reserve sufficient resources to respond to any foreseeable emergencies.
• Responsible for management of the environmental incidents or accidents during EPC phase.
• Check site personnel and equipment certificates to ensure that they comply with environmental requirements.
• Assist to organize on-site environmental meetings, training and drills.
• Other duties assigned by superior.

Requirements
• Bachelors degree or above in Environmental, oil industry or engineering related.
• At least 7 years’ work experience in oil industry and 4 years’ work experience in environmental management.
• EPC work experience is required.

Knowledge
• Extensive knowledge of engineering and work site management.
• Extensive knowledge of Ugandan, CNOOC and international HSSE laws, regulations and practices.
