Job Description
Basic requirements
• A first degree in a health discipline from a recognized institution of higher learning;
• A Masters of Medicine (MMED) in a clinical discipline, or Post Graduate Training in Public health or other health services management discipline from a recognized institution of higher learning;
Medical Experience and a proven track record in Health Services Management.
• Licensed to practice medicine in Uganda.
Duties /roles of Executive Director
• Overall administrator and accounting officer of Bwindi Community Hospital, including Uganda Nursing School Bwindi, and Uganda College of Health Sciences Bwindi.
• Directly answerable to the Hospital Board of Governors.
Key outputs
• Current strategic direction/strategic plan in place.
• Annual work plan with an approved budget.
• Facilitated and functional governance structures (Board of Governors and its committees).
• Timely submission of required reports (performance/analytical).
• Demonstrable growth or improvement in hospital performance, meeting operational and strategic targets.
• High or increasing client/patient satisfaction sustained.
• A committed and motivated workforce.
• Conducted Continuous Professional Development for staff.
• Hospital Compliance with Legal and Regulatory framework.
• Adequately mobilized resources for operations and sustainability.
• Built and maintained strategic partnerships.
• Organized and chaired the Hospital Management Team.
