About Sole Hope

Sole Hope’s mission is to offer hope, healthier lives, and freedom from foot-related diseases through education, jobs, and medical relief. Our programs include school and village clinics, a Hope center and clinic, a shoe production workshop, education programs and income generating activities.

Overall responsibility of the position

This is an exceptional opportunity for a high level professional individual to manage our financial systems, donor funding and company administrative duties for Sole Hope, Uganda. The Finance and Administration Manager is a senior management position reporting direct to the Country Director. The role will based at our office in Buwenda-Jinja.

Roles and responsibilities

The successful candidate will:
• Oversee company administration and compliance within statutory requirements within Sole Hope’s finance and administration company policy and procedures.
• Monitor and produce financial reporting on institutional grant funding.
• Provide regular reports detailing donor and fundraising financial engagement.
• Uphold complete documentation, stewardship and accountability of financial transactions.
• Ensure budgets and forecasts are prepared and submitted in line with Sole Hope’s weekly senior management meeting, monthly Executive meetings, and quarterly Board meetings.
• Provide accurate and timely financial information is issued to relevant internal departments for reporting purposes to Sole Hope’s donors and key stakeholders.
• Maintain a robust budgeting, financial management and tracking system is in place for accountability of purchase orders, approvals incomes and expenditures.
• Oversee administrative duties including logistics, procurement and office administration.
• Conduct best working practices and implementation of company administration in line with state internal and external taxation reporting, and the import and export procedures on the international movement of goods.
• Support, mentor and supervise staff to carry out day-to-day finance and administrative functions to ensure compliance with financial controls and operational systems.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

• A Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or another relevant field and a professional certification such as CPA or ACCA.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in increasing roles of responsibility and oversight of finance and administrative functions with donor funded organisations especially USAID and EU funded projects.
• At least five years’ experience in a management position
• Practical working knowledge of QuickBooks accounting system and conversance with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook.

• Excellent communication and people skills
