Job Description


The Uganda Conservation Foundation is a UK charity and Ugandan non-profit, registered locally as Uganda Conservation (U) Ltd. UCF’s mission is to support in safeguarding Uganda’s natural heritage and regional development by implementing practical conservation and regional development programmes, influencing policy-makers and engaging the public. We work closely with the Uganda Wildlife Authority, and have projects in and around the protected areas in the country.

Duration: 1 Year, with possibility of renewal

Responsibilities:
As the Finance and Administration Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our financial and administrative functions, with a particular focus on grant management and donor fund-related tasks. Key responsibilities include:

Financial Management:
• Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures.
• Prepare financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
• Manage cash flow and ensure financial stability.
• Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support decision-making.

Grant Management:
• Oversee the entire grant management lifecycle, from proposal development to reporting.
• Ensure compliance with grant requirements and regulations.
Develop and monitor grant budgets, tracking expenditures and ensuring funds are utilized efficiently.
• Collaborate with project managers to align financial reporting with grant objectives.

Donor Fund Responsibilities:
• Manage donor funds, including budgeting, disbursement, and reporting.
• Monitor and control grant budgets, ensuring accurate allocation and utilization of funds.
Work closely with fundraising teams to provide financial information for grant proposals.
Collaborate with donors to address financial inquiries and provide timely and accurate reporting.

Administration:
• Oversee day-to-day administrative operations.
• Implement and enhance administrative policies and procedures.
• Supervise and mentor administrative staff.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Risk Management:
• Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks.
• Implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Reporting:
• Generate accurate and timely financial reports for management.
• Prepare and present financial information to stakeholders.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• MBA or relevant professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA) preferred.
• Proven experience of 9+ years in a senior finance and administration management role.
• Experience working in the non-profit sector, with a focus on grant management and donor fund responsibilities.
• Strong financial analysis and reporting skills.
• In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and compliance.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Proficient in accounting software including QuickBooks Online and MS Office Suite.
