Job Description

Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Senior Fisheries Inspector (Regional Markets) for performing the following duties:-
• Maintaining an up-to-date list of Gazetted landing sites handling fish for exports, on lakes Victoria, Kyoga, Albert Nile, Edward and George;
• Identifying new upcoming potential landing sites for upgrading and informing the Responsible Offices;
• Enforcing adherence to fisheries management policies and standards by gazzetted landing sites;
• Following-up and receiving monthly submission of returns from local fish inspectors;
• Capturing data on returns from landing sites to the control system;
• Preparing quarterly status reports of the landing sites;
• Monitoring and evaluating the performance from landing sites and recommending strategies for improvements to the relevant Authority;
• Performing incidental work relating to landing sites assigned by the Senior Fisheries Inspector;
• Any other related duties as may be assigned from time to time

Minimum Qualification
• Applicants should be Ugandans in possession of an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Fisheries; or Zoology; or Acquatic Biology; or Food Science; and Technology from a recognized University/ Institution.
