ActionAid is an International Development Agency working in over 50 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean. ActionAid Uganda’s mission is to achieve social Justice, gender equality, and poverty eradication by working with people living in extreme poverty and exclusion, their communities, people’s organisations, activists, social movements, and their supporters.
We are now seeking to recruit suitably qualifi ed, self-driven, result oriented, dynamic, Agile, and competent persons willing to share with our Vision and the aspirations of our 5th Strategy and the Global Strategy to join the team in the following roles:

Position : Human Resource & Administration Officer (1)
Report To: Finance & Operations Manager
Location: Actionaid International Uganda- Head Office
Contract: 4 Years
Role Overview: Implement Human resource management policies, systems and processes and carry out HR administration in line with AAU’s local and global HR/OD frameworks and statutory requirements. The position shall provide administration functions of AAU in line with stipulated policies and guidelines

Key Responsibility Areas:
• Participate in the review of Organizational policies, systems and procedures and provide technical support to staff and partners in line with the Human Resource and Administrative policies
• Implement the AAU recruitment and selection processes in line with the Human Resource manual.
• Analyze, maintain, and report on the performance management process, records and procedure in line with the PM best practices.
• Maintain and update a comprehensive fi ling system and the AAU human resource information system for HR related documents and reports
• Develop and implement staff learning and development Programmes in line with AAU objectives and procedures.
• Develop and implement welfare scheme and staff benefits in line with the human resource policy.
• Develop and maintain the AAU staff benefits in line with the department’s mandate
• Participate in documentation and dissemination of correspondences and minutes in line with the HR policy.
• Initiate the AAU monthly payroll and advise the Finance and Operations Manager on any changes before salaries are affected.
• Coordinate and ensure adequate security of people in line with Organizational policies.
• Supervise, coach and mentor staff to support their performance in line with Human Resource Policy Manual
• Liaise with stakeholders to fulfill the legal obligations of the Organization.

Education, Language, Qualifications, Knowledge, skills, and Experience:
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Psychology, Human Resource Management, Public Administration and/or Business Administration.
• Postgraduate Training in Human Resource Management is an added advantage
• At least three years of relevant work experience in a reputable organisation.
• High level of confidentially, Transformative feminist leadership skills, Communication skill, Teamwork and team building skills , Good interpersonal skills, Conflict resolution, Training skills, Filing and documentation skills , Salary administration, Ability to establish critical working relationships, Ability to promote and safeguard AAU policies, Ability to conduct power analysis
