Logistics Coordinator
Location: Kampala, Uganda. Mobilized to Albert Lake, construction sites or other cities if required.

Primary function:
• Provide effective and efficient field support services to the Company operations.
• Assist to develop all operation policies & procedures.

Responsibilities:
• Coordination of project site logistics requirements with contractors.
• Responsible for transportation of materials from one project area to another.
• Coordinating with the contractor to ensure that vehicles fit for purpose are provided for infield Jobs.
• Inspect vehicles and lifting equipment to ensure safety standards are met.
• Responsible for processing of manifests for cargo movements.
• Coordinate with Logistics team in Kampala to ensure that all shipments are planned for i.e. receiving & handling.
• Supervise lifting operations in the facilities in accordance with the procedures.
• Coordinate orders for diesel supplies during operations (rig supplies)
• Plan for lifting equipment certification.
• Monitor and sign timesheets for work done by contractors (Lifting and infield transporter)
• Responsible for entrance and exit permit and tariff exemption procedures.
• Make the import and export materials transportation plan, supervision of the implementation of the plan.
• Responsible for the declaration, inspection and examination of materials.
• Developing a freight forwarding manual that will be used as a work manual both internally & externally.
• Ensure strict implementation of QHSE SOPs in transportation and handling of project materials.
• Preparation of a detailed expediting plan for both imports & exports and share it with logistics contractors
• Maintain clear and consistent communication with Suppliers, vendors and shipping contacts throughout the procurement processing
• Processing permits and Licenses for specialized cargo like OOG & Dangerous goods.
• Manage and monitor best forwarding process of goods through air/sea or road.
• Responsible for cargo transportation and material handling, managing marine operation.
• Responsible for aviation service of personnel movement between Kampala and site.
• Response for formulation and revision of procedures/policies governing logistics functions.
• Assist in annual work plan and budgeting process and implementation of plans
• Other duties assigned by superior

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or above Logistic and supply chain management, freight forwarding or the related.
• At least 3-year related working experience including 3-year experience in Oil & Gas Industry

Knowledge
• Knowledge of laws and rules of Custom and commercial inspection.
• Knowledge of logistics, freight forwarding and foreign trade process.
• Knowledge of declaration, import and export transportation.
• Extensive knowledge of warehouse operation.
• Experience of oil E&P.
