Job Description
The Logistics Officer will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating logistical activities within the construction projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of materials, equipment, and supplies. S/he will work closely with project managers, suppliers, and transportation providers to optimize the logistics process.
Roles and responsibilities
• Coordinate with internal and external partners on the shipment of equipment and materials to project sites.
• Monitor and track all deliveries and shipments to ensure that they arrive on schedule.
Communicate with internal and external partners on any changes to transportation deadlines
• Create and maintain delivery schedules for materials and equipment.
Maintain accurate inventory records of materials and equipment on-site and in warehouses.
• Maintain clear communication with project managers, site teams, and vendors regarding logistics activities.
• Prepare and present logistics reports, including inventory levels, delivery schedules, and cost analyses.
• Prepare and provide all necessary documentation to meet shipping and compliance requirements
• Ensuring the quality of all products is maintained during the shipment period.
• Evaluate and select suppliers based on cost, reliability, and quality of materials
• Identify potential risks in the logistics process and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Monitor logistics expenses and implement cost-saving measures without compromising efficiency and quality.
• Any other duties to be assigned from time to time.
Qualification, Experience, and Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably in the construction industry.
• Knowledge of shipping procedures and a strong understanding of supply chain principles and practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in using Logistics software, SAP software, and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
