Job Description


The  Manager  Digital  Innovations  and  Automation  is  responsible  for  leading  the  technical  research  initiatives  on  disruptive  digital  innovations  and  the  growth  of  the  business  process  automation  functions.  He/She  is  part  of  an  agile  systems  application  development  team,  designing,  building,  implementing,  deploying,  and  maintaining  organization-wide  business  applications  and  Information  Technology  infrastructure  Systems  on  top  of  exiting  technology  stack.  The  Manager  Digital  Innovations  and  Automation  provide  technical  and  team  leadership  in  a  project  environment  through  collaboration,  coaching,  and  mentorship

Scope  of  duties  and  responsibilities
1.Line  management  and  personnel  development  of  a  team  of  highly  skilled  developers,  database  administrators,  business  analysts,  innovators  and  technical  researchers    development  efforts  towards  successful  delivery  of  complex  software  development  projects.
2.Managing  the  delivery  of  multiple  complex  simultaneous  system  development  projects  from  design  through  to  release
3.Provide  technical  leadership  to  the  Innovations  and  automations  team  through  collaboration,  coaching  and  mentorship.
4.Maintain  high  standards  of  software  quality  within  the  team  by  establishing  and  enforcing  use  of  best  practices  and  standards.
5.Collaborate  with  other  software  developers,  business  analysts,  solutions  architects,  service  providers,  and  key  stakeholders;  to  plan,  design,  develop,  test,  deploy  and  maintain  robust  business  applications  aligned  with  the  business  needs.
6.Working  closely  with  the  Projects  and  Strategy  Manger  and  Business  Analysts  to  produce  accurate  delivery  estimates  and  manage  the  transition  from  analysis  through  to  design  and  delivery
7.Assist  and  support  the  collection,  documentation,  and  refinement  of  users’  requirements,  development  of  user  stories,  estimates  and  work  plans.
8.Define  delivery  phases  of  the  project  including  activities,  sub-activities,  and  milestones  ensuring  these  are  documented  and  used  as  the  basis  for  the  project  event  log,  issues  and  risk  log  and  any  subsequent  reporting
9.Lead  the  design,  development,  configuration,  testing,  and  deployment  of  business  applications  and  other  systems  in  accordance  with  established  standards  and  best  practices.

Education  and  Training:
1.A  Bachelor’s  Degree  in  Computer  Science  or  Information  Technology  or  Information  Systems  or  Software  Engineering  or  Statistics  or  Business  Computing  or  Project  Management  or  Business  Administration  or  a  related  field  with  hands  on  experience  of  a  minimum  of  5  years  in  a  technical  leadership  position  preferably  in  Banking  or  Telecommunication  sector.  Demonstrated  experience  with  agile  software  development  methodologies
2.A  recognized  qualification  in  Project  Management  such  as  Prince-II,  PMP  or  service  management  such  as  ITIL.
3.Should  possess  strong  hands-on  experience  in  leading  technical  IT  teams  or  managing  complex  IT  Projects.
